I know that reverse glass painting was taught to young women in the first half of the 19th century and then became widely popular as a decorative art from about 1850 to 1890

Small Lot of Antique Bone (and one wood) Dice hand-sewn monkey puppet and complicityI'll throw in a few extra dice that I bought along with these, but pictured are the best of them. The blacks on the bone dice, all 19th century, are wonderfully irregular; I especially love the curling arcs of the threes. The red one is wooden, and an early one. Nice just thrown in a bowl, but there is a pair here of the same size that would be good for any dice throwing game. Red one measures 1 2" cubed. Largest bone is 7 16" cubed; medium pair 5 16"
