19th C. Tin Book Shaped Box in Original Paint rescue There are a few stains

There are a few stains visible around the edges

and the hex type star that appears to have been pyropgraphed into the back panel

and all sorts of things

making it appear as if this shoe has just stepped on a wad of gum

and then these shiny silver shapes (aluminum I believe

Tin Book Shaped Box in Original Paint rescue There are a few stainsSmall, and rare, this tole (painted tin) book shaped box is still holding onto some of its original red paint on the covers and spine and yellow orange on the pages. Whether made as a snuff box or a match holder I am not completely sure, but definitely 19th c. and if you, like me, love all things book shaped, and also boxes of all kinds, a sweet little addition to a collection. 3 1 8 t x 2 1 8 x 1 3 16. Aged, as evident, with just a little separation
