I have a vague notion that this drawing may have been done by Swedish artist Beata Mårtensson (1880-1956)

with an uneven left edge from being torn from a sketchbook

late 19th or early 20th century I believe

but otherwise I’d put it out to be enjoyed all of the time

And some kid or kids definitely loved it, giving the wooden people inside colorful faces and bodies. It's definitely pretty indestructible, and has many good years of play in yet, though not a bad shelf object either, with smiling faces pointing out. 7" tall x 8 3 8" long x 4 3 8" wide. Scuffs and a few pencil or crayon marks here or there but
