The dryness should round out in time as there is no associated sense of astringency

Here too there are soft floral hints to the overtly spicy aromas of red and dark currants

It remains to be seen if this will flesh out with a few years of bottle age

Domaine Ponsot, Chambertin Vintage:2002 satiny and rich white that’sfrom a tiny . 15 ha parcel of vines planted in 1961. Complex and wild red fruit aromas with plenty of earth, game and roasted coffee notes merge into tight, nicely pure, sappy and extremely intense flavors that are not especially concentrated but do offer exceptional persistence, all supported by refined and ripe tannins. This is the best Ponsot Chambertin in some years.
