Dressed in a dark coat and waistcoat with a white shirt and black tie. Body turned slightly to the viewer's right, Brodie looks directly to the viewer. Benjamin Brodie was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1810, he served as its President from 1858 to 1861. Original: oil on canvas, 684x560mm. ca. 1860s
