Antique Folk Art Monkey Head Carving, Stopper or Cane Top? pottery bud vase base has a diameter ofThe second of two monkeys this week, at least I believe it is the head of a monkey depicted on this carved piece, which I purchased from a dealer in Maine, who pulled it out of an old Maine estate. I love the face, especially the soulful eyes, and the very dark old dry wood patina. I think most likely it was some sort of stopper or handle, perhaps the topper on a cane? 19th c. I believe. 4 1 4 t x 1 1 8 w x 1 3 4 d and in very good condition, with one
